The Double Lesson by Jacques Madvo is a graduation film from IDHEC, completed in 1960.

A young boy named Brahim is in sixth grade. While he is having dinner with his family, his father discovers that he must submit a commentary on a line from Jean de La Fontaine’s fable The Hare and the Tortoise to his teacher. He forces him to write it in front of him and eventually ends up writing it himself.

Unfortunately, his son receives a poor grade. To avoid dishonouring his father, the boy falsifies his mark.
