Heart to Heart by Hamid Benani is a graduation film from IDHEC, completed in 1954.

Desperate to find love, a young woman writes to the readers’ advice column of Cœur du monde magazine. This column is run by a man using the pseudonym Isabelle. At the editorial office, he tries to finish a new article while several letters from admirers are brought to him. He goes to a café where he has an argument with boys who mock him. After being hit by one of them, he takes refuge in a park where a friend tends to his wounds.

In another café, he calls a reader, Madame Dumas, who has sent him her phone number. He arranges to meet her at the base of the obelisk at Place de la Concorde. The woman arrives: she is not the young woman from the letter, but an older one. He takes her hand and leaves with her.
