In 2020, artist-archivist Mohanad Yaqubi, visiting researcher at KASK & Conservatorium in Ghent, welcomes the Jocelyne Saab Association and the Lebanese filmmaker’s archives to his laboratory, as part of the CRAMP program he directs within the school. His laboratory is equipped with a Filmfabrik scanner and the necessary equipment for reel repair and 2K film digitization.
The desire to work with a view to safeguarding and preserving archives led us to devise a training program in the practice of digitization. The Association Jocelyne Saab has hired the services of the Institut National de l’Audiovisuel, which will be hosted at KASK in 2021 for a three-day training course in digitization and calibration for the archive. The course was led by Jean-Philippe Bessas, and was attended by three participants: Mohanad Yaqubi, Elettra Bisogno and Jasper Rigole.
